Breast Cancer Awareness

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in American women after skin cancers. Women in the U.S. have a one-in-eight chance of developing breast cancer. Although it is rare, men can also get breast cancer. One out of everyone 100 breast cancer diagnosis in the U.S. are men.

Raising awareness is incredibly important. Regular screenings help in the detection of precancerous and cancerous breast tissue that may be present in otherwise healthy individuals. With proper diagnoses and treatment in the initial stages, breast cancer can be one of the most treatable forms of cancer.
